Could we be seeing Vanessa Hudgens donning fangs and a hairy costume to play a werewolf in the next Twilight film?

In unconfirmed reports, Entertainment Weekly says that the High School Musical star has auditioned for the role of disgruntled werewolf Leah Clearwater in the forthcoming Twilight sequel, New Moon.

Twilight's Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen in the franchise, told MTV that Vanessa has auditioned for the role of Leah, a girl who becomes the only female werewolf of her tribe. "I think she'd be great," Ashley said.

The 20-year-old star is best known for her role as Gabriella opposite real life beau Zac Efron in the hit Disney franchise.
