Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival is going on the road.

The independent film showcase is sending eight movies playing at the star-studded festival, held annually in Utah, for screenings in eight cities around America on January 28, 2010.

The screenings will allow audiences around the country a taste of the festival.

The directors of each film will travel along to introduce their work and answer audience questions afterwards.

The films will be announced after the festival releases its line-up in December.

Sundance Film Festival will be held in Park City, Utah from January 21 to 31.
